"For the last 3 years, the Rhode Island Avenue Fall Fest has showcased our beautiful tree-lined commercial district in one of the hottest real estate markets in DC, and has attracted hundreds of visitors for a day full of shopping, food, and entertainment for the whole family. Fall Fest 2014 promises to be bigger and better – more music, more art, more food, and more fun!" - Rhode Island Ave Fall Fest
Welcome to the second annual Homegrown DC event, a celebration of all food grown right here in our nation's capital by you! It will be a one day hyper-local farmers' market and festival, where school gardens, community gardens, and urban farms within the city can show off what they've grown, and we can celebrate growing healthy food right here at home.
Homegrown DC will take place Saturday, September 20from 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm with food and community organizations to celebrate the occasion. Please join us by showing off your bountiful harvest. Each table and garden will be able to sell or donate their own produce and are encouraged to think of creative activities for participants and or provide "taste-tests" of your fresh food or of recipes made from your produce. Participation is free for DC garden growers! For information on how to include your garden, please visit http://bit.ly/1rovCNS
The event will take place at Old City Farm & Guild located at the corner of Rhode Island Ave NW & 9th st NW: oldcityfarmandguild.com/
Also stop by the DC State Fair which will be held at the same time and place!
